Captain’s Ray Moore Prize 4th & 5th August 2108

Our 2018 Captain’s Ray Moore Prize was held on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August.
At the presentation of prizes Ray thanked his wife Angela, and all his family
for all the help and support he received throughout the year.
He also praised all those who serve on committees and encouraged
volunteers to come forward and help out within the club.
Ray also paid tribute to the ground staff who had the course
in fantastic condition. He thanked Jimmy Screene and Becky Gavin
and their staff for providing the catering. Ray congratulated all the winners
but also thanked everyone who took part in his Captain’s Prize weekend.

Winner of the Men’s 27 holes stroke event was Frank Kelly (20) 91 nett;
2nd: Pat Delaney (19) 94.5; Gross: Seamus Haverty (6) 110;
3rd: Billy Hyland (11) 97.5; 4th: Martin Burke (16) 98; 5th: Michael Scarry (23) 98.5;
1st 18: John Gannon (11) 67; Past Captains: Tom Cunningham (16) 102;
Seniors: Larry Bergin (13); 1st 9: Gabriel O’Connor 29 ; 2nd 9: Kieran Donoghue 32;
3rd 9: Peter Donnellan; Longest Drive: Tomas Cunningham. Nearest the Pin: Joe Burke (2 inches).
Distance Winner: Joe Glennon (10) 65. Distance Runner-up: Barry Hoban (12) 68.
Putting Contest: Billy Hyland.
Proceeds from the putting contest were donated to the Galway Rape Crisis Centre.

Winner of the 18 holes stroke event: Maureen King (32) 71 nett. 2nd: Caroline Delaney (21) 72.
